Story Background
The story of Black Myth: Wukong takes place after the events of Journey to the West. After becoming a Buddha, Sun Wukong relinquishes his title and returns to Mount Huaguo, only to face a siege by the heavens. During his fierce battle with Erlang Shen, Wukong is defeated and falls, his soul shattered into six "Essences" scattered across the world. Players take on the role of the Lingming Stone Monkey, “The Chosen One,” embarking on a journey to recover the lost Essences and revive Sun Wukong.
